Gerina Stevenson, who is the Mexican child of Rita Stevenson Stevenson and Alan Stevenson Stevenson, is born in Mexico. She is Mexican roots, yet is American as a national. Her entire life has been a sports enthusiast. Gerina began playing golf when she was 15 years old. Gerina went to Goddard High School. The school won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament during her time in high school. In addition, she was a volleyball player who competed at the national level. The year 2003 was the time she enrolled at the University of Texas. While in her senior years she took home the top prize in every competition which she participated in. During her undergraduate career she was named Conference USA individual champion player of the year and UTEP Female Athlete of the Year.
